It is well known that it [Careless Whisper] became a hit in the midst of Wham!'s singles, which was also a reason for it having been credited to Wham! featuring George Michael in the States.
All different with A Different Corner: Written, arranged and produced by George solely to be a solo effort with all instruments played by himself this was really the first George Michael offering of his own. It is even one of his favourites until today, both lyrically and musicwise: he performed a stunning version during his famous Parkinson show in 1998.
