Wham!
Bad Boys

Wham! 1983

George Michael's songs never sound like the time they've been released in and most of them are classics today, so he has never said that he'd regret anything he had written during the Wham! days, with one exception: THIS song. Completely misunderstood by the public, this song from Fantastic is the only piece of music of his own he hates. He even refused to put it on 1997's Best Of compilation If You Were There.
Bad Boys was intended to be part three (after Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do?) and Young Guns (Go For It!)) of the trilogy of Wham!'s satirical comments on growing up and the British society.
The single which was produced by Steve Brown and co-produced by George was the biggest success for Wham! at the time (it reached No. 2 on the Top 40 in 1983), but everybody seemed to take the leather jacket-image very serious, although it was intended to be ironical.
